ABOUT
At West Blocton First Baptist Church, we believe faith without works is dead (James 2:17). For many years, our Food Pantry has been a tangible way we obey the command to love our neighbors as ourselves.
We provide no-cost groceries — including non-perishable items, canned goods, and other staples — to families and individuals facing food insecurity in West Blocton and surrounding Bibb County. No one is turned away because of income, background, or church membership.
To receive assistance, guests must present a current driver’s license (to verify Bibb County residency) and sign a statement confirming their household meets the low-income guidelines. We do not require proof of income.
We also offer a Senior Box Program for individuals age 60 and older. This is a separate federal program with its own regulations and paperwork. Senior boxes are distributed by the mayor at the municipal building (located directly behind the church) on the same day and time as the Food Pantry.
We are always thankful for volunteers who help make this ministry possible. Roles include sorting food, greeting guests, distributing bags, directing traffic, and praying with those who request it.
On-site Prayer Warriors are available for anyone who would like prayer. Our desire is to meet both physical and spiritual needs in the name of Jesus.
